A typical flat in a terraced house from the end of the sixties needed a complete refurbishment of the utilities and optimisation of the architectural layout.
The redesign takes over, in a modified form, the logic of the original floor plan, thus allowing the autonomous use of different rooms at the same time. In this way the inhabitation of the flat by independent individuals has remained possible, while at the same time a flexible use by a variety occupants is being enabled.
The new walls with exposed whitewashed brick make the architectural intervention palpable, while the technical installations have been simplified and minimally visible. Accentuated by the smooth surfaces of floors and ceilings the material roughness of the new walls structures the flat and leaves the act of building preset in space.
